The impact of even one vocation is immeasurable and eternal, truly a lasting legacy. On average Augustinian priests and brothers serve in active ministry for 50 years before they retire. What can be accomplished for the Church in this span of time? Fr. Stephen Isley, O.S.A.

Ordained June 2017

Teaches 3 courses to 40 total students in Catholic Social Teaching and Ethics

Youngest Augustinian priest at the Cascia Hall Community by 40 years

On a 4-week rotation at Cascia Hall's St. Rita of Cascia Chapel, Fr. Stephen says one Sunday Mass and five weekday Masses each month.

As Chaplain, Fr. Stephen plans a chapel session for the middle school students every Tuesday and leads their midday prayer and announcements every day.

 Oversees middle school retreats and service days.

Provides an on-campus presence, meeting with middle school kids during their break period, during lunch, and after school.

Assistant coach of Cross Country and Track & Field, attending practice 5 days-a-week and Sunday meeting during the season.

Fr. Richie Mercado, O.S.A.

Ordained June 2016

Director of Vocations for the Midwest Province, meeting with hundreds of men annually around college campuses and parishes.

As Chaplain at St. Rita High School, serving over 600 students, Fr. Richie prepares students for sacraments, trains liturgical ministers, serves at Kairos retreats, directs the sophomore retreats, and serves as a consultant for the Board of Discipline.

Serves as Chaplain for all athletic teams at St. Rita High School

Celebrates 5 masses each week, either for students or local community at St. Rita Shrine Chapel

Provides an on-campus presence, meeting with students during their break periods and after school.

Serves as Administrator to St. Jude Parish, New Lenox, IL

Offers Mass and hears weekly confessions for a parish population of over 4,000

Officiates parish weddings, performs baptisms, and preside at funeral services

Leads Rites for the Christian Initiation for Adults
